My wife and I stayed overnight in late September and wished we had stayed longer. The Vale is such a grand historic building with beautifully appointed rooms. The hosts (new owners I believe) really made us feel so welcome. The food was first class as were the options to sit and relax on the balcony or on the couches in the main room whilst we watched sport and then music on the big screen. This B&B is great value and we will be back again and next time we will definitely stay for longer. Highly recommended - Thanks

The friendly river towns most historical Bed & Breakfast
The Vale of Avoca was a single storey hotel opened in 1879 by James and Elizabeth Egan. The second storey was added in 1926 by John and Agnes Dwyer.
It was delicenced and ceased being a hotel in 1942 but rather continued as a boarding house and then a hosiery factory until around 1952.
After 1952 it was converted into flats (seven flats) with a couple of shops fronts on the ground level. One of which was occupied by Gus Mercurio who practiced as a chiropractor at the time.
"The Vale", as it is commonly known, was carefully restored in 1997 and now operates as a Bed & Breakfast Accommodation with Dining/Conference Room facilities and a new Kitchen and Café which was originally the old bar area.
